New Delhi: The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the much-anticipated Lucknow Metro Phase 1B, marking a major leap in Uttar Pradesh’s urban transport infrastructure.

Lucknow Metro Phase 1B will extend the metro network by 11.165 km, featuring 12 stations – seven underground and five elevated – with a total project outlay of ₹5,801 crore.

Once completed, this expansion will bring Lucknow’s operational metro network to 34 km, significantly improving accessibility for residents and visitors.

  • Food heritage destinations that define Lucknow’s culinary culture

Traffic, Environmental, and Economic Benefits

By offering a modern alternative to road transport, Lucknow Metro Phase 1B is expected to ease congestion along heavily trafficked Old Lucknow routes, reduce travel times, and improve overall road safety.
